Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef or turkey
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Adobo seasoning
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, sauté the ground meat over medium-high heat until it is halfway cooked. Remove the pan from the heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic, diced onion, and olive oil to the pan with the meat. Continue cooking until the meat is fully cooked.
  3. Next, add the water, beef broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, seasoned salt, black pepper, and adobo seasoning. Stir everything well to combine.
  4. Lower the heat and cover the pan. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. After 20 minutes, add the uncooked elbow macaroni to the skillet. Stir to ensure the pasta is well combined with the rest of the ingredients.
  6. Cover the pan again and let it simmer for an additional 30 minutes, or until the macaroni is tender and fully cooked.
  7. Once the goulash is ready, remove the bay leaves from the pan.
  8. Stir in the shredded Cheddar cheese until it is fully melted and combined into the dish.
  9. Finally, sprinkle the Mozzarella cheese over the goulash just before serving, allowing it to melt and create a delicious, cheesy topping.
